Tell your friends and family that you are quitting smoking.
Some people like to tell others they are quitting so they can get extra encouragement and support. Other people prefer to try and quit discreetly in case they fail and feel embarrassed. The best advice is to choose whichever option you feel most comfortable with. One thing you might like to prepare is what to say when someone offers you a cigarette e.g. 'No thanks, I've given up', 'No thanks, I'm trying to give up.' etc. Telling other people can help put you under a bit more pressure to stay off cigarettes.
