Keeping busy doing activities like housework can be very useful when you are trying to stop smoking. If you are bored or have too much time on your hands you might be tempted to fill that gap with a cigarette. When you smoke nicotine tricks your brain into thinking you are doing something useful when of course you're not.
If you want to use housework as a distraction, pick any task that will keep your mind occupied. Things like hoovering and mopping the floor can also double as light exercise which may help temporarily ease your cravings.
