Hypnotherapy

Description

There are many different types of hypnotherapy, but generally it involves putting the patient into a suggestible state of mind and then trying to 'talk' directly to the subconscious. When it comes to smoking, hypnotherapy aims to try and stop you wanting a cigarette.

How best to use it

There is some research that shows hypnotherapy could help you give up smoking, but it is unlikely to benefit you more than simply receiving practical advice from you doctor.
