In the UK (andvarious other countries) you can get free face-to-face support to help you give up smoking. You will meet a trained stop-smoking advisor who can help you throughout your quit attempt, from before you start till at least a month after you've given up. They can advise you on the best form of medication and nicotine replacement therapy to help you stop.
In the UK you can visit your local GP and they will refer you to your local stop-smoking advisor. You may be able to choose whether to get one-to-one support or group support. Although group support has been shown to be very effective, you may prefer one-to-one support. If you are pregnant or have reduced mobility the advisor may be able to come and visit you in certain areas.
