Physical activity is a very effective way of reducing cravings. Getting active only helps for a short period of time - it doesn't get rid of your cravings long-term - but it is a very useful tool nonetheless. Exercise can also help keep your weight down after you stop smoking.
If you are experiencing strong cravings and you're able out for a a brisk walk, it will almost certainly help reduce your desire for a cigarette. If you experience cravings at the same times each day, it might be worth thinking about whether you can exercise during these difficult periods.
