Taking it one day at a time means just that: not worrying about tomorrow, or any long term aims. Just trying to make sure you don't smoke today can be a big enough challenge.

How best to use it

This approach probably works best when you're really struggling with constant cravings and can't bear to think about going through the same thing tomorrow. Don't worry, the cravings will pass, but sometimes taking it one day at a time is all you feel capable of.
