Mindfulness involves paying attention to your thoughts and feelings in a detached way which means you don't feel overwhelmed by them. It encourages you to enjoy the present moment and feel a sense of wonder at things everyone usually takes for granted.
The idea is to avoid fighting against your urges to smoke, but instead accept those urges and observe them until they no longer have a hold over you. There is some research to suggest this may help smokers to quit.
