Being around other smokers can act as a trigger for you to smoke. So it makes sense to avoid situations where other people will be smoking, because this will increase your temptation to smoke.
Sometimes it can be difficult to avoid other smokers, especially if they are close friends who you see on a regular basis. But consider trying to meet up with your friends in an environment where they won't be able to smoke. Remember that cravings are at their worst in the first 4 weeks after quitting, so consider reducing your contact with other smokers for at least that period of time.
